A green pool rarely needs to be drained and started over. Perfect Pools clears green pools around Savannah and Richmond Hill with a recovery program: kill the algae, get it out of the water, and leave the pool balanced so it stays clear.
How recovery works
- Check the equipment. The pump has to prime and the filter has to filter. If either one is why the pool turned, that comes first.
- Remove the debris. Leaves and sludge are netted and vacuumed out so they do not go through the filter.
- Balance and chlorinate. Chlorine is raised to a shock level sized to the pool and its test results.
- Brush everything. Walls, steps, benches and corners.
- Filter around the clock. The pump runs 24 hours a day and the filter is cleaned as it loads up with dead algae.
- Come back and repeat. Follow-up visits continue until the floor is visible and the water holds chlorine.
How long it takes
- Light green: often swimmable again in several days to a week.
- Solid green: commonly one to two weeks.
- Dark green and full of debris: longer, sometimes with a repair before the water will finish clearing.
What it costs
Recovery visits start from $85 per visit, with chemicals billed separately. The total depends on how many visits the pool needs, its size, the debris in it and the condition of the filter. Send us a photo and we will tell you what we think it will take.
Please do not drain it
Groundwater is often close to the surface near the coast and the marsh. Its pressure can lift an empty pool shell or float a vinyl liner.
